Manchester City's Champions League season may come to an end way sooner than expected. The English Champions suffered a tough loss at Etihad Stadium, which left them hoping for a miracle to go through the next round in the European tournament. This game represented the third loss out of the last four matches for Pellegrini's crew, being able to win only the Manchester Derby last Sunday.
CSKA Moscow started at full speed with a goal by Seydou Doumbia after two minutes, but fan favorite Yaya Toure equalized the match for the Citizens at the eight-minute mark. When the first half was almost up, Doumbia scored his second goal of the evening, starting chaos among the Citizens.
The second half of the match had Manchester City reliving their recent mistakes, not being able to put the ball past Igor Akinfeev. Things started to take an ugly turn when Fernandinho saw the red card, leaving the Sky Blues with one less player on the pitch. In complete despair, Yaya Toure saw a second yellow card after 82 minutes, leaving Pellegrini's team almost hopeless. Sergio Agüero started controversy before the game ended, when he claimed for a penalty kick that was denied by the ref. Now, the Citizens need to win both of their matches to still have a chance to qualify.
The Citizens are being massively trolled for this recent loss. Read some of them below.
Seems to be more people left on #TheApprentice than Manchester City had at the end of the game.

''Joe Hart hasn't had a save to make but he's been beaten twice''. So he had two saves to make...

Shows you what happens with a decent ref. Jovetic, Aguero, Toure and Joe Hart should all have been sent off in the Derby.

Losing Toure and Fernandinho and having Bayern next...well isn't that great

Fernandinho has been a danger to City since the World Cup semi-final. Too many players' standards have plummeted since league win in May.

Lots of Manchester City fans dressed up as blue chairs tonight. I thought Halloween was last Friday?
