When this quartet was announced, many had expected it to be a battle between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea for top spot, while Roma were expected to settle for third and a place in the Europa League. However, the Giallorossi have managed to upset the odds, and it's the Italian side who are now leading the way and are within touching distance of qualifying for the round of 16. By contrast, Los Rojiblancos have struggled and are still seeking their first Champions League win after picking up a rather disappointing three points from their opening four games.
That being said, Diego Simeone's side are not out of the running just yet. They are, however, without a win at home in this competition this season and shockingly were held to a 1-1 draw with lowly Qarabag last time around. Simply put, a loss for Atleti tonight, coupled with a win for Chelsea against Qarabag will see Los Rojiblancos eliminated from the Champions League. It's win or go home for Simeone's troops. Can they turn things around?
