The Citizens have received the recognition for the first time-ever in their history.

For the first time-ever, Manchester City has surpassed the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United at the top of the Deloitte Money League, as the Premier League winners continue to flaunt their financial muscles despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the report, the Citizens registered €644.9 million in annual revenue last year, a 17 percent increment in what they got in the previous year to top the list.

Under Pep Guardiola, the Premier League's defending champions are enjoying unprecedented success and their dominance has resulted in an expansion in their fanbase in recent years. The club's growth, specifically its global reach and appeal, has had a direct impact on their financial power and this has been confirmed by the Deloitte Money League.

According to the report by the financial institution, City generated a grand total of €644.9 million in revenue in 2020-21. The figure is €4.2 million more than second-placed Real Madrid, who last topped the list in 2017-18. Barcelona, who were formerly No.1 on the list, found themselves occupying fourth position following their financial crisis in the past year. Bayern Munich completed the top three with a revenue of €611.4m. Paris Saint-Germain occupied sixth place while Juventus sat in ninth.

Meanwhile, Man City were joined in the top-10 by five other English clubs, with Manchester United being named in fifth place, while Liverpool and Chelsea finished in seventh and eighth respectively and Tottenham in 10th place. Check the full rankings below:
