Bayern Munich are suffering from a goal crisis at the moment. But ahead of their Champions League match against Basel, Louis van Gaal wants things to change.

Bayern Munich Coach Louis van Gaal is wary of Basel's threat. Besides, the Dutch manager also laments his team's lack of goals recently. Louis van Gaal wants things to turn around quickly. The Dutch manager, who has just extended his contract with the German outfit, is wary about Basel’s threat. On paper, Bayern Munich should easily dispose their opponents on Tuesday night. The 1999 and 2010 UEFA Champions League runners-up accomplished their homework against AS Roma on the first match-day of the competition.

However, their unconvincing run in the German Bundesliga explains that things might not go that smoothly tonight. Coach Louis van Gaal failed to guide Bayern Munich to success against Mainz last weekend.

The manager is now wary ahead of the Basel match. Speaking to UEFA.com, the boss shared his opinions as he stated:

“Basel are a good team. They play 4-4-2 and they have two good strikers who are dangerous. But, I hope we can improve [on Tuesday] and get a positive result which we can reproduce in our next Bundesliga game.”

Bayern Munich’s biggest problem this season has been the scoring and Coach Louis van Gaal knows it very well. The Dutch explained the problem, saying:

“I think we’ve played some good football in the five games in the Bundesliga, so far. But the thing is that we aren’t scoring goals, and this has been our problem.

“This is something we’ll need to resolve, and I think we have the opportunity to do so [against Basel]. We are creating chances, so we just need to start scoring goals.”
