Jose Mourinho has reminded Real Madrid fans that success doesn’t come overnight. The Special One has set his target on developing his team through time.
A few weeks ago, rumours suggested that Jose Mourinho may quit Real Madrid in the summer following his reported sour relationship with Jorge Valdano. However, the Special One has claimed that even the failure of clinching silverware this season won’t see him gone from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Jose Mourinho has reiterated his ambition to offer success to Real Madrid again and he views next term as a better opportunity to do so. Mourinho recently spoke to Marca, only to create assumptions over his belief in cup glory with Los Blancos this year.

“To finish the season without any titles would be a painful blow – especially for the fans, who are accustomed to great victories. But we are always adapting to the circumstances and fact, he declared.

“The natural development of a team suggests that titles won’t come at the beginning. It is a long cycle which will hopefully lead to many great victories.

“Next season, I expect much more from the team than we have produced this year. The players and I are now thinking alike and we are producing the same philosophy of the game that I want.”

Real Madrid are alive in all three competitions this season despite not being the strong favourites to win any of them. In the UEFA Champions League, they need to destroy the Last 16 curse which has tormented them for the past six years. Meanwhile, a titanic clash against the Catalans lies ahead in the final of the Copa del Rey – and as of now, the majority of football pundits haven’t tipped Real Madrid to defeat Barcelona.

In La Liga, however, they are five points behind defending champions Barcelona ahead of this weekend’s match-day. Real Madrid will host Levante on Saturday and they have the chance to minimize the gap at the top of La Liga standings to just two points before Barcelona entertain Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
