Arsenal pulled out a wonderful 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Monday night to be 4 points above the Blues in the English Premier League. Now Theo Walcott is readying for the Wigan match.
It took an excellent performance from the Gunners to break their jinx against Chelsea. Thanks to that victory, Arsenal maintain their status as realistic Premier League title contenders.

For many fans of last night’s victorious side, the match will be remembered as one of the Gunners’ best spectacle in the year 2010. Star winger Theo Walcott echoed Arsenal’s satisfaction at their triumph over Chelsea as he talked to Sky Sports after the encounter, saying:

“It think that everything went well for us and we made Chelsea look average at times. We played some great football, not just the pressing.

“It was fantastic to see, and we wanted to do that for the fans because in recent years we have been disappointing and we haven’t got the results.

However, Theo Walcott isn’t permitting himself to get carried away as the season is long. He continued, underlining the importance of Arsenal’s next match which is against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night:

“We got the win, and that’s fantastic! But, there’s another game around the corner now.”

Commentating on Fabregas declaration that Arsenal had clinched a “mental victory” over Chelsea, Walcott stated:

“Mentally, I think that it is very important. But we’ve got to show that again on Wednesday [against Wigan Athletic].

“The Premier League, the best league in the world, the most competitive... after today, we have to play again.”

Arsenal’s players can barely take some time off to celebrate their famous 3-1 win against Chelsea. In a few moments, they will have to get back on the field of play – not at the Emirates this time, but at the DW Stadium to play Wigan Athletic in the last match of the year 2010.
