Despite already having spent quite a bit on bringing in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal could be making another big purchase pretty soon.

According to reports, the Gunners are reportedly keen on Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who has become unsettled since making a mega-money move to PSG from Napoli back in 2013.

Les Parisiens broke the French transfer record upon signing him from the Partenopei for €64.5 million, but his time so far has been frustrating with the Ligue 1 giants due to the presence of Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. As a result, the 27-year-old has long been linked with a quick exit despite scoring a respectable 25 goals in all appearances for the club last season.

Disgruntled: Cavani is reportedly fed up with playing second fiddle to star man Ibrahimovic

English reports claim that the Premier League side attempted to sign him last summer, only to see PSG flat out refuse but with the player growing more unhappy with his location, Arsene Wenger is apparently willing to shell out a record-breaking £55 million to bring the former Serie A star to London.

Meanwhile Spanish reports indicate that Wenger has earmarked him as the perfect man to revitalize Arsenal's attack, in which he would join the aforementioned Welbeck and Sanchez, as well as injured striker Olivier Giroud as options for the long-serving French tactician.
