The current tournament champions will join Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and AC Milan as the only teams to wear the crest.

Barcelona's recent victory against Juventus during the UEFA Champions League final will give the club one coveted distinction. Prior to the Champions League draw, which will be celebrated on August 28, the team will be granted the "Badge of Honour", which will be embroidered on the team's jersey.

The crest is given to those teams that have won five or more Champions League trophies throughout their history, and Los Culés will be joining an exclusive list of teams wearing that badge. Real Madrid (10), AC Milan (7), Bayern Munich and Liverpool (5) were the only teams until now to have been graced with the distinction.

Prior to the beginning of the draw, a number of footballers who played during those seasons which ended with Los Blaugranas lifting the trophy will be included in the ceremony. Former Sports VP Andoni Zubizarreta (1992), Juliano Belletti (2006), Carles Puyol (2009), Eric Abidal (2011) and Andrés Iniesta (2015) will be the ones to represent the team during the gala.

Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi will also be participating in the event, since both of them were nominated for the Best Player award, alongside Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
