Samir Nasri is believed to have defeated time in his race for fitness. The midfielder could even feature in Wednesday’s Arsenal vs Barcelona match in the UEFA Champions League.
Late in January, Nasri picked up a hamstring injury as the Gunners entertained Huddersfield in the FA Cup. This fitness blow was believed to put the French player on the sidelines for at least 3 weeks at the frustration of Arsenal fans.

However, the London club has just been rocked with good news ahead of Wednesday’s titanic Champions League match against Barcelona. As ESPN Soccernet reported, Nasri spread the info on his Twitter page by commentating:

“Hi tweeps good session today im fully fit and back with the squad looking forward to it.”

Indeed, Samri Nasri participated in a training session with Arsenal on Tuesday morning. He has eventually been named by Coach Arsene Wenger in the Gunners squad that will affront Barcelona. However, Arsenal’s manager prefers to take a cautious approach towards Nasri’s fitness as he explained during a press conference:

“Samir is in the squad and the starting line-up will be decided tomorrow. I won’t take any medical risk. But it's good to have him in the squad.

“He's recovered quicker than expected. I said it would be 21 days but it will be only 17 days. Everybody's absolutely adamant that he is completely medically available.

“Now it's down to me to make the decision [to let him play against Barcelona or not].”

Samir Nasri was tremendous for Arsenal in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. On Wednesday night, the home crowd at the Emirates Stadium would be glad to see the talisman helping the team to overcome Barcelona.
