Shocking transfer news from London has hit the headlines; Spurs have hijacked Chelsea’s transfer bid for Steven Pienaar’s signature. It now looks like the Everton star is heading to White Hart Lane...
Football and its game of money make an incredible world, indeed. In just a matter of hours, Chelsea have been replaced by Tottenham Hotspur as the favourites to grab Steven Pienaar from Everton. Statements from Coach David Moyes besides reports from English magazine The Sun explained that Chelsea’s £3M bid had been accepted by the Toffees whereas Spurs chances of luring Pienaar had faded away.

Harry Redknapp had also commentated on this transfer issue, saying that “it would make it difficult for Spurs to compete with that money” for the player as “Everton have agreed a fee with Chelsea for £3M which is probably a bit more that what Tottenham Hotspur had set”. However, like a miracle, Darren Bent’s shocking soon-to-be-completed transfer from Sunderland to Aston Villa appears to have settled the matter in favour of Harry Redknapp’s side.

Business rules have offered Spurs a sell-on fee from Darren Bent’s switch to Villa Park as the English striker was formerly sold to the Black Cats for £16M back in August 2009. Now the BBC reported late on Monday that Tottenham Hotspur have now been able to improve their initial £2M bid for Steven Pienaar and that Everton had considered it by accepting it.

Pieenar’s body cannot be cut into two halves, so where in London will the Everton star land during this transfer period – at White Hart Lane or at Stamford Bridge? Earlier in December, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw. Which team will edge the other off-the-pitch this time round?

Interestingly, Everton and the Blues will clash later this month in the FA Cup. Let's see if Steven Pienaar will be part of this game!
