The West African country's team does not boast the kind of experience that the football squads of heavyweights like Ivory Coast, Tunisia, and Algeria have. Along with Burkina Faso, Gabon qualified as Group C leaders on 15th November 2014 at the expense of Angola and Lesotho. Their hard-fought qualification process includes a 4-2 home win against Lesotho and a 2-0 win against fellow qualifiers Burkina Faso.

Panthers fans will see no reason why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can not transfer his fantastic form for Borussia Dortmund to the Gabon national team, and the fleet-forward has not given them any reason to doubt this so far. Aubameyang has already displayed his goal-scoring prowess during the group stage, netting both of Gabon's goals in the sensational 2-0 win over Burkina Faso on 11th October 2014. Should he keep his head up and do what he does best, Gabon will certainly be able to ask questions of the likes of Senegal and Congo.
