Despite Liverpool’s best efforts to beat Newcastle 2-1, Manchester City were crowned champions of this season’s English Premier League.
In less than 2 weeks the Citizens changed the course of the title-race and went on to take their second trophy in 3 years. City controlled their destiny and left nothing up to chance in their mature performance against West Ham.

Maturity is exactly what Liverpool lack. Their draw against an unpressured Crystal Palace is a perfect example of that lack of composure. The Reds however, demonstrated their passion and generosity when they tried to take the title until the very end, beating Newcastle thanks to Sturridge’s and Agger’s goals.

City showed their class and confidence today by playing a perfect match. Pellegrini’s team was calm and poised as Nasri netted a beautiful goal from 25 yards out. Finally, Kompany crowned his excellent performance with another goal. They now belong to the greats of English football.
