La Albiceleste's World Cup defender Marcos Rojo's move to Old Trafford is complete, according to the player

Argentine defender Marcos Rojo has confirmed his "dream" move to English Premier League side Manchester United, departing Portuguese club Sporting after making over 60 appearances with the Primeira Liga side.

The 24-year-old, capable of playing as center-back and full back, has been heavily tipped with a switch to Old Trafford on the back of his impressive 2014 World Cup run, being named in the tournament's All-Star side as La Albiceleste made it all the way to the final.

This move will come as a relief to the Red Devils fans as Louis Van Gaal is in dire need of defensive reinforcements after the club saw senior players such as Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra head out of Old Trafford.

When talking to ARG Radio Continental, Rojo said: "It feels like a dream, to be a Manchester United player. Leaving Sporting wasn't easy."

According to Goal, the deal could see Manchester United winger Nani headed the other way, returning to his former club, seven years after signing for the 20-time English Premier League winners.

Another player rumored with a Theatre of Dreams exit is Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini, signed for £27.5m from Everton only a year back, as the 26-year-old has been suffering a terrible time with the Manchester side.

Gazzetta dello Sport (per Express) claim Serie A club Napoli have reached a £4m deal with Manchester United to allow Fellaini to move to Stadio San Paolo on a season-long loan.
