Independiente looks forward to come back from last week's 2-0 defeat in Brazil at the Libertadores de America in Avellaneda.
It's been a difficult year for Independiente in the Apertura, perhaps not as bad as Goias, who faced relegation in the Brazilian league a few weeks ago.

Both teams focused exclusively in the Sudamericana fight and their efforts will be tested this week on Argentinean ground. Independiente will be missing its top striker Nestor Silvera, sent off during the previous game.

"History does not lie. We'll win this competition, it's part of the magic of the team" said Independiente manager Antonio Mohammed. Goias is expected to play a highly defensive game, will this be enough to lift their first international title?

Independiente's coach rested all his top players during the last week for the Apertura fight to reach the finale at full capacity.

"I'm pretty confident we'll make it. I'm anxious, waiting for the second final but I do my best to give tranquility to the rest of the players as I prepare to be there at my best" said Rojos' former captain Eduardo Tuzzio.

Carlos Matheu will be once again Independiente's captain for such decisive game, responsible for giving the needed security in the back line to put Rojos' wheels in motion. A victory will not only qualify Independiente for next year's Libertadores: It will also stop their eternal rival Racing Club from claiming the 5th place.

"Argentineans squads always have a defiant attitude. I'm worried for the security both of my team mates and Goias' followers" said Goias' striker Rafael Moura, scorer of the opening goal last week.

"They will have to adopt an aggressive attitude from the first moment, we'll take advantage of this and rely on counter-attacks to secure the three points" added Otacilio Neto, scorer of the second goal in Brazil last week.

Goias has already showed its worth playing away against Palmeiras in the semi-finals. In fact, the Brazilian squad has scored in every game played away in this competition.

Both Independiente and Goias have saved their best men for the most important game of the year for both squads. If Goias scores an early goal it'll nearly be game over for Independiente, who must gain by at least two goals to lift America's most coveted title.

Goias has already eliminated Gremio, Peñarol and Palmerias from the competition, will they succeed in Avellaneda against the King of Cups?
