After bagging an incredible assist for Diego Costa's goal in the clash with his former side, the Spaniard claims he still remains in the Gunners supporters' hearts

To say Cesc Fabregas is no more an Arsenal favorite would not be a far-fetched statement.

The Spaniard, a youth product of Barcelona's well-renowned La Masia youth academy, joined Arsene Wenger's side back in 2003 as a mere sixteen year old, but quickly went on to establish himself as an indispensable player in the Arsenal midfield.

But after eight wonderful years with the north London side, the 27-year-old playmaker departed the Emirates Stadium for a return to Camp Nou. If this move broke the Gunners fans' hearts, Fabregas decision to join Chelsea for £30m only enraged them.

Pulling on the west London side's blue stripes was an image that did not sit well with the Arsenal faithful, and the fans made those feelings known when the Blues welcomed Arsene Wenger's men to Stamford Bridge, on Sunday.

Being met with boos, jeers, and even the middle finger, Fabregas added insult to injury to the away fans after setting up Diego Costa's 78th minute strike with a wonderful long volley pass, a goal that all but ended Arsenal's hopes of gaining a point from the London derby.

However, after the referee blew the final whistle, awarding Jose Mourinho's men all three points from the game, Fabregas remained adament that the Arsenal fans still loved him in a post-match interview, claiming he is still in their hearts.

Despite receiving a warm welcome from some of his former team-mates, Fabregas was not a fan amongst the traveling fans
