About TVP1

TVP 1 is a Polish television channel owned and operated by Telewizja Polska, a media corporation from Poland that is mostly operated by the government of that country. It was launched on October 25, 1952, and it has been required to cover news and general information over the years. It is frequently referred to as the flagship channel for TVP.

TVP 1 is known as a general information channel by offering news, children’s programming, TV series, movies, sports, and special events such as the Eurovision Song Contest. The channel broadcasts content for 23.5 hours every day. 

When it comes to sports, TVP 1 has aired content related to disciplines such as football, cycling, athletics, and ski jumping. Furthermore, TVP 1 has also aired content related to the Olympic Games. Football competitions covered on this channel over the years have included the Polish Ekstraklasa, games for Polish teams playing the preliminary rounds of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, and to top it all, the channel has also aired games for the Polish National Team.

TVP 1 broadcasts its content in Standard Definition. The contents of this channel do not differ from those aired in the High-Definition feed for TVP 1 HD.

TVP1 Broadcast Rights

UEFA Nations LeagueTVP has obtained the free-to-air TV broadcasting rights in Poland for the 2018-19 and 2020-21 Nations League and Nations League Final Four.

EkstraklasaPublic-service broadcaster TVP has extended its rights to the Polish Ekstraklasa through 2023. TVP will show 30 matches per season starting from 2021 and will also air Ekstraklasa highlights and magazine shows.
