When things seemed to be on a roll for Germany, one of their most reliable players made a big mistake that allowed Italy's equalizer.
Jerome Boateng wasn't able to clear a cross inside Germany's box fairly, hitting the ball with his right hand. Referee Viktor Kassai didn't hesitate and awarded the Azzurri a penalty kick, which was scored by Leonardo Bonucci moments later.
