Germany finished as Group C winners with seven points on the table, managing two wins and one draw. Now they are to face Ján Kozák's Slovakia for the knockout stage of UEFA Euro 2016. 
However, things don't seem so positive for German defender Jerome Boateng, as he is doubtful to play on Sunday. Germany's medical staff are doing their best to get the 27-year-old player on the pitch for their anticipated match.
Boateng left the pitch in the 76th minute with a knock to his calf in Germany's 1-0 group stage win over Northern Ireland.
After the game, Germany's assistant coach Marcus Sorg revealed:
"The hardening is declining, he and the medical staff are working flat out.
"We hope that he makes it, but I'm not a prophet. We still have two training sessions, so a lot can happen."
Although his injury came at a crucial time, the Bayern Munich centre-back remains positive and believes he will be fit enough to feature against Slovakia, telling Bild:
"The calf is a little hard. I got a stabilising tape on it.
"Our medical department does an excellent job. I'll definitely be able to play on Sunday."
Boateng has been outstanding thus far at Euro 2016, as he has now made 62 caps for Die Mannschaft .
