Estudiantes is only 90 minutes away from lifting this year's Apertura title.
Not much has changed this week in the Argentinean league. Apertura's leader Estudiantes celebrated a sound 4-0 victory at the Monumental against 10-men River Plate.

Gimnasia defeated All Boys at the Forest and claimed three decisive points for the relegation fight, leaving Huracan at the bottom position of the tournament. Velez Sarsfield claimed the full scoring in Liniers against basement boys Huracan, who couldn't take advantage of River's defeat to shorten the gap from the safe zone.

Arsenal secured the third position upon a flawless victory over Colon in Sarandi. The top four squads will be taking on each other in the next match day, as Velez visits Racing while Estudiantes receives home Arsenal. Who'll claim the title?

All Boys' midfielder Fernando Sanchez opened the secure in the very first minute of the first half with an own goal, trying to clear Juan Neira's cross.

10-men All Boys levelled the game in the third minute of the second half but it took less than 15 minutes for the hosts to recover the upper hand.

Juan Neira was the leader of Lobos' attack that were caught off guard at the beginning of the second half as Hugo Barrientos headed the ball straight into the net. Neira was challenged near the hour mark, scoring from the free kick granted by the referee with an exquisite shot.

Substitute Gaston Casas came in right after the second goal replacing Claudio Graf and his excellent form was decisive for Gimnasia to secure the three points. After two decent chances to score, Casas sealed a 3-1 victory for Gimnasia in the 40th minute of the second half.

Gimnasia visits La Bombonera in the final match while All Boys receive Godoy Cruz in Floresta.

Claudio Mosca and substitute Matias Alustiza gave Arsenal the full scoring in Sarandi this Tuesday. Marcelo Goux score the equalizer at the beginning of the second half, before Colon's goalkeeper Diego Pozo stopped Cristian Alvarez a penalty shot.

It's been over five weeks since Colon celebrated its last victory. Esteban Fuertes and Damian Diaz played far below par. Fernando Gamboa's Sabaleros were truly harmless throughout the whole first half, and though Federico Higuain boosted their attack, it was not enough to deal with Gustavo Alfaro's midfielders.

Near the hour mark Esteban Fuertes challenged Jorge Ortiz inside the box and Arsenal was granted another penalty shot. This time it was Matias Alustiza responsible for the execution and he didn't hesitate.

Arsenal secured the third position, exposing Fernando Gamboa's Colon every weakness.

Estudiantes played its last game away this year celebrating a massive victory over J J Millonarios. Estudiantes' top striker Gaston Fernandez warned River's goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo with a powerful shot that hit the bar early in the first half.

Only seconds later, Estudiantes' defender Leandro Desabato score the opener with a powerful header after a free kick. The goal boosted the morale of the hosts, that got a two-goal lead in the last minute of the first half as Matias Sanchez with another header.

River struggled hard to pass through Estudiantes' packed midfield. Eric Lamela (who received a 12 million dollar offer from AC MIlan earlier this week) was the most unbalacing Millonario player. One of his shots hit the post and warned Estudiantes, who nevertheless delivered a fatal blow in the first minute of the second half thanks to Marcos Rojos' powershot.

River was left with 10 men as Jonathan Maidana challenged Gaston Fernandez and receives his second yellow card. The visitors gave up and Estudiantes -not known by its mercy- sentenced a 4-0 victory with Gabriel Mercado's header in the 11th minute of the second half.

The leader is one step away from lifting this year's title, while River could not open a bigger gap from Huracan in the relegation fight. Will the Pïnchas become Apertura's champion by next week?

Ricardo Gareca's Fortin played under pressure as Estudiantes were one goal ahead from River Plate in the first minute of the game. The hosts were harmless throughout the first half, but as substitute Jonathan Cristaldo joined the game the situation changed and, with a double, Cristaldo kept Velez's hopes alive for the final round.

Miguel Brindisi's Globos were aware they could reduce River's advantage in the relegaiton fight to a minimum upon a victory, and for that reason Huracan's head coach strengthened Globos' defense against the most prolific squad in the competition.

Huracan goalkeeper Gaston Monzon was sent off in the 36th minute of the second half and only three minutes later it was Cristaldo again who took advantage of a ball left bouncing inside the box to secure the victory.

Velez must make a final effort and hope for Arsenal to stop Estudiantes to lift the Apertura title. Will they succeed?

Godoy Cruz and Racing played one of the most exciting games of the week with intense action on both sides throughout the whole 90 minutes. Jairo Castillo and Ivan Pillud score the goals in the first half.

Both team's goalkeepers Jose De Olivera and Sebastian Torrico were the stars of the match, forcing the rest of the players to make their best to take the full scoring for their teams.

Godoy Cruz controlled the ball thanks to Cesar Sanchez and Jairo Castillo at the beginning of the game before Giovanni Moreno and Patricio Toranzo lead Racing's awakening.

Godoy Cruz's attack was greatly undermined as Jairo Castillo injured in the 30th minute of the game, making room for Rodrigo Salinas. Before the first half was over, Ivan Pillud score the equalizer with a powerful shot from over 25 yards.

Godoy Cruz stopped Racing from claiming its ticket for next year's Copa Libertadores. Racing receives Velez in the final match, Arsenal visits Floresta to lock horns with All Boys.
