Wayne Rooney keeps adding milestones to his already legendary status with England. Today, during the Euro 2016 Qualifier against San Marino, the English captain became the joint top scorer for his National Team, emulating what Sir Bobby Charlton achieved many years ago.
Nevertheless, Rooney's moment was tarnished by controversy, since the ref gave Roy Hodgson's side a penalty after a handball by defender John Stones. The game's officer thought the ball came off one of San Marino's defenders, and decided to give The Pross the shot from the spot.

So John Stones handballs in the box. Penalty to England. Well played ref mate

Rooney didn't look back into the situation, and sent the ball to the lower left hand corner, scoring his 49th goal for England in 106 games, just like Sir Bobby Charlton did.

Wayne Rooney may be about to become England's highest ever goalscorer but in no way will he ever be the greatest.

Rooney equalling Charlton's record is like me matching the 9 min mile, except I just drive it.

Scoring amount of goals rooney has is definitely amazing and impressive, but I don't think he's the best English striker eve

And of course, Gary Lineker had something to say about it.
Trying to get used to only being the 3rd highest goalscorer....so humiliating!
