Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has come out and ruled out a summer sale of Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, warning off any club from attempting to sign the striker. Sammer went on to even praise the Bundesliga top-scorer, saying he has a work-rate that is unrivaled.
Mario Mandzukic has seen his future at the Bavarian side be thrown into doubt since the arrival of Pep Guardiola. The former Wolfsburg man has seen his role decrease as the Spanish manager occasionally chooses to bench Mandzukic, opting for Thomas Muller in a “false nine” position. Accompanied with inevitable summer arrival of Polish hitman Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern goal-scorer's time at the Allainz Arena has been speculated to be little, with rumors of Chelsea and Arsenal being in pursuit of him.

"Nobody even has to bother making an approach for Mandzukic," Sammer said to SKY90. "He is incredibly important to Bayern. I always affectionately say that he plays like an animal.
"It is simply amazing how much work he does for the team and how much running he does during a game. They always try to provoke him because he really hurts his opponents with his work-rate."
