The tournament’s 27th edition will take place in 4 stadiums staged in 4 different Angolan cities.
The country will welcome 15 other African countries to take part in the continent's most prestigious competition.
Four cities, four stadiums
The capital Luanda, as well as Cabinda, Benguela, and Lubango are Angolan cities which were chosen to host the prestigious event.
Live Soccer TV gives you the opportunity to quickly get informed on this angle.
Luanda:
The capital of Angola is located on the country’s coast with the Atlantic Ocean, and it contains the Estádio Cidade Universitaria – a 40,000 crowd capacity stadium.
The Estádio Cidade Universitaria, which is the largest is mainly dedicated to the Group A.
Looking at its structure, it surely will attract a lot of supporters.
Cabinda:
This city is situated in the Cabinda province, and it is an exclave to Angola.
It possesses the Estádio Chimandela, which has enough seats for 25,000 football fans. There, 5 of Group B’s 6 matches will take place.
Benguela:
This western Angolan city holds the Complexo da Sr. da Graça, a stadium also large enough for 25,000 people.
The Complexo da Sr. da Graça will be the location of most of the games in Group C.
Lubango:
Finally, the capital city of the Angolan province of Huíla owns the Estádio Alto da Chela.
It’s a stadium with 25,000 seats, just like the Estadio Chimandela and the Complexo da Sr. da Graca stadiums.
The Estádio Alto da Chela will be the home of 5 encounters in Group D.
The weather
Angola is an African country with a modest climate. In the middle of the year, the weather becomes cloudy and dusty, although precipitations become rare.
During this season (also called “winter”), pollution gets higher, and the temperature hangs about 18 degrees Celsius.
Around September and October, showers (so-called “pequena chuvas”) start falling, and the hotness remains under 38 degrees Celsius.
However, between the month of December and April, the temperature reaches its highest level; January is the time where short sleeves are to be worn.
But humidity is also present, followed by temporary heavy rains. So expect mixed weather forecasts during the entire 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in January.
The 16 teams by their groups
