Fans excited for the next edition of El Clasico now have insight as to when Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off again in the league. Although Spain’s two biggest clubs aren’t neck-to-neck in the title race due to Los Blancos’ inconsistent season, this match-up never fails to entertain the fans.
The Blaugrana might already be champions by the time Zidane’s men visit the Camp Nou. When speaking to “El Larguero”, La Liga president Javier Tebas revealed that the second Clasico of this campaign is scheduled for May 6.
He told the radio show that the game "will be on Sunday at a quarter to nine" on week 36 of the Spanish Primera Division. This, however, has not been official confirmed by the league.
Cristiano and Co. will be eager for revenge after losing 3-0 at home in December to Valverde’s side. Then there is the issue of whether Real Madrid players should give Messi and Co. a guard of honor should the Catalan giant enter this game as champion.
With the Champions League semi-final second leg tie coming a few days before the aforementioned date, we could Barcelona and Real Madrid lock horns twice in one week. This, though, hinges on both teams reaching the last four and drawing each other.
As of now, their immediate worry is the midweek games in Spain. The Bernabeu side travels to Espanyol on Tuesday while Barcelona will make the trip to Las Palmas on Thursday.
