Lukas Podolski's career with the German National Team was full of ups and downs, but his final game with Die Mannschaft was the perfect occasion to leave a goal for the ages.
The player, who wore the captain's armband for most of the game, scored the only goal against England with a long-distance shot, which ended up finding its way into the top left-hand corner of Joe Hart's net. A stunning goal that earned "Poldie" not only a round of applause by fans at Signal Iduna Park, but also had Joe Hart congratulating him for such a beautiful goal.
