Club Brugge vs. Leicester – two clubs in bad form

Many question whether Leicester City, the club that shocked many to win the Premier League, can roll with Europe’s top dogs this season.

The club did little to cool down any doubts over their chances by an unimpressive start to the new season, which has left Claudio Ranieri’s boys in 16th place.

The Foxes last game, a trip to Anfield, saw Vardy and Co. suffer an embarrassing and demoralizing 4-1 loss to Liverpool.

The King Power Stadium outfit are now with a single win from their last eight games – albeit that includes International Champions Cup games. Regardless, Ranieri admits that he’s still eyeing a spot in the next round.

He said, as per UEFA.com: “It's important to play in Europe beyond December: that's our goal. We want to be in the knockout stage. Winning the Champions League is impossible. But Leicester have shown before that the impossible is possible.”

Club Brugge themselves haven’t embarked on a fairy tale defense of their title, as they currently occupy 10th spot having slipped to a third consecutive away defeat in the domestic league over the season.

Having played six games in the new season, Michel Preud'homme’s boys have racked up only two wins so far.
