The Russians have been hit by many injuries before heading into this top-flight tournament. Valencia’s Denis Cheryshev (thigh), Dynamo Moscow’s Igor Denisov (thigh), Rubin Kazan’s Oleg Kuzmin (knee), Zenit St. Petersburg’s Yuri Zhirkov (calf/shin) and CSKA Moscow’s Alan Dzagoev have all been ruled out of Euro 2016 due to their ongoing injuries. In addition, attacking midfielder Dmitri Torbinski remains a doubt for Leonid Slutski’s side after the Krasnodar winger picked up the stomach flu.
Slovakia will not be able to count on forward Robert Vittek after the ŠK Slovan Bratislava footballer was ruled out of this summer’s tournament due to a muscular injury. Defenders Norbert Gyomber (toe) and Tomas Hubocan (calf) may not be fit enough in time to face the Russians after suffering from injuries. Dusan Svento will be most likely to fill one of their positions.
