What are the teams participating in Copa América 2016?

The tournament’s format has been adapted to fit 16 teams, and for the first time ever, the competition will be hosted by a non-CONMEBOL country. Fox Networks have acquired the rights to broadcast the tournament on TV & online via their mobile apps. Six teams from CONCACAF will try to make their way against tough South American competitors including Argentina (one of the most winning teams in the competition’s history), Chile (the current title holders), Uruguay (the team with the most Copa América titles) and Brazil. All 16 teams were divided in groups of four, with the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina seeded in each group.

What are the Copa América Centenario 2016 groups?

Group A:USA, Colombia, Costa Rica,Paraguay
Group B: Brazil, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru
Group C: Mexico, Uruguay, Jamaica, Venezuela
Group D: Argentina, Chile, Panama, Bolivia

Most teams will have their very best players available, with the only exception of Brazil. Aside from the absence of interesting players such as Oscar and Kaká, A Canarinha will be missing the skills and leadership of Neymar, who will focus on playing the 2016 Rio Olympics. Meanwhile, most South American stars will be around, including Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Uruguay’s Luis Suárez, Colombia’s James Rodriguez, Mexico’s “Chicharito” Hernández and even Leicester City’s captain Wes Morgan, who plays for Jamaica.

Ten cities in the United States will host this tournament, with all the venues capable of hosting up to 60,000 spectators. The teams involved in the competition will have the chance to play in such venues as the recently opened Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara or in CenturyLink Field in Seattle, home of one of the noisiest fandoms in MLS football.
