This will be the fourth meeting between these teams in Gold Cup matches. So far, Honduras has emerged victorious against Panamá two times, including a 5-1 blowout in the 1993 Gold Cup. Panamá won their latest Gold Cup match with a 3-2 score, including one goal by Blas Pérez.
The overall stats between these two sides indicate Honduras' dominance over Los Canaleros, with 20 wins and nine draws. Panamá has won ten games against Los Catrachos, including an ongoing four game unbeaten streak facing their opponents on Friday.
