Portugal wants to continue their Group I dominance when they meet against Armenia this Saturday evening. With Cristiano Ronaldo trying to lead his side to another International competition in good form, the Lusitans will try to at least re-do their 1-0 victory back in November.
After starting off with a home loss against Albania, Portugal knows nothing but victory in the Euro 2016 Qualifiers. With wins against Denmark, the Armenians and Serbia, CR7 & Co. will try to extend their lead over Denmark as leaders, while they adding some goals to their total. Even with Real Madrid's player as the go-to guy, Portugal has only been able to score four goals in this qualifiers, a number they need to increase to assure their place in the continental tournament.
On the other hand, Armenia has only secured one point, and their chances of making it to the Euro 2016 are rather slim at the moment. Whatever hopes the Armenians have of shocking the Portuguese will surely be courtesy of Henrikh Mkhytarian, who has shown his class all-year round with Borussia Dortmund. Mkhytarian has scored the only goal his National Team has in this qualifiers, and he will be hungry to show a bit more of his talent when they host Portugal this Saturday.
This will be the sixth game between these National Teams, with Portugal trying to extend their unbeaten streak that includes three wins and two draws.
