Also, he hit four goals against a topsy turvy 4-5 win against one of Germany's most accomplished sides in Bayer Leverkusen. Not content with these goals, he scored both of the strikes in Wolfsburg's 2-1 win over Hertha in the previous weekend.
Sporting Lisbon is coming into this match in rather poor form. Sporting has picked up only two victories in their past five matches in all competitions. They sit third behind fierce rivals Benfica and Porto in the Portuguese Liga. The team from Portugal will have to work very hard to turn the tide around against Wolfsburg. Die Wolfe have underachieved in the Bundesliga since their 2009 victory but are living up to their billing currently. Only Bayern stands above them in the Bundesliga; they have already beaten the Bavarians heftily this season.
