The last time Roma visited Manchester ended in nothing short of humiliation as the Giallorossi were subject to a 7-1 thrashing by Manchester United, who more than exacted revenge on the capital club following their 2-1 loss in the first leg.
Well, that was during the 2006-2007 season, and while that might seem like a lifetime ago, one member of the squad--the evergreen Francesco Totti--will certainly remember that day with little fondness. The 2006 World Cup winner, who turned 38 this past Saturday had never won nor scored in a game against English opponents, and with his career slowly winding down surely will like to help his team go as far in the Champions League as possible.
Roma have enjoyed a great start in their return to Europe but were initially pegged back after Maicon gifted an early penalty to City that Sergio Aguero easily converted.
However, Totti turned back the years with a brilliant vintage chip to beat Joe Hart, thus sealing a vital point for his squad and setting a historic personal milestone in the process by becoming the eldest ever Champions League goalscorer which previously was held by another legend of the game--Manchester United's Ryan Giggs.
Bet Manchester City followers were a bit miffed after Totti scored the historic goal following this earlier tweet?

I absolutely love the fact that Francesco Totti has been a one-club man his entire professional playing career; 1992-2014. Total legend.
