Alves shares reasons to leave PSG

Dani Alves sheds light on reasons to leave PSG last summer

October 16, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
In an interview with GQ, Alves admitted that there were some issues off the pitch that forced him to leave Les Parisiens.

Dani Alves did not enjoy his time in Paris, and that was one of the main reasons why he decided not to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 giants.

Speaking in an interview with GQ, the current Sao Paulo defender admitted that he disliked his surroundings and how some of those living there had racist attitudes towards some of his close ones.

"It's a stressful city. I didn't like it much. If you go to Paris for a week, it will be the trip of your life, but any longer than that and it gets tiring. It reminds me a bit of Sao Paulo, but there, they are fu***ng racists. A lot of them," Alves said.

The winner of back-to-back Ligue 1 titles with Les Parisiens admitted that no one in the French capital crossed him with such behavior, but he did experience it first-hand through some of his friends.

"They didn't say anything to me because I would have told them to go and f**k themselves, but I saw it towards my friends," Alves added.

The 2019 Copa América winner with Brazil shared how he believes racism could be brought to a halt.

"We have suffered this in Spain for some time. You have to take it with a dose of humour. We are not going to change things easily. If you don't give it importance, they don't achieve their objective," Alves concluded.

Alves is currently playing for Brazilian side Sao Paulo, where he has been involved in nine games and has scored one goal.
