Cristiano Ronaldo has never scored against Pique or against Barcelona. Can the prolific Real Madrid goal poacher do so in El Clasico tonight?

Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to score against Gerard Pique and Barcelona - Barcelona vs Real Madrid, El Clasico.Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to break his goal curse against the Blaugrana for the first time during Monday’s Barcelona vs Real Madrid La Liga match. In fact, CR7 has come up 5 times against Barca in his career and he has never managed to notch a goal against them.

This season, the Real Madrid superstar has been in great form, scoring 14 goals in La Liga so far to top the league’s top scorers’ chart. Cristiano Ronaldo has even scored 4 goals in one game and a hat-trick in another one, only to remind the public how deadly he can be in front of goal.

But should Barcelona defender Gerard Pique be worried ahead of El Clasico?

Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Gerard Pique holds a good record against Cristiano Ronaldo

Actually, the former Manchester United player and ex-Cristiano Ronaldo team mate has never been outclassed by CR7 while carrying a Barcelona jersey. A couple of weeks ago, though, Gerard Pique was blinded by Cristiano Ronaldo’s dazzling lights as Spain suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Portugal during the international break. Real Madrid’s number 7 still didn’t score against Pique since he had a goal wrongly disallowed.

However, the Spain friendly proved that he can be the danger man against a Barcelona-packed team. Arsenal captain and Barcelona fan Cesc Fabregas believes that Gerard Pique holds a good advantage overall against Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, the Gunner also thinks that the Spanish defender and the rest of the Catalans shouldn’t relax during tonight's Barcelona vs Real Madrid match as CR7 can surprise at any time.

“The fact that Gerard Pique played together with Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford should help [the Barca defender],” Cesc Fabregas told the media ahead of El Clasico.

“But, he will know that, if you lose concentration, then Cristiano Ronaldo kills you.”

Football fans around the world, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Anti-Cristiano Ronaldo supporters, wait to see if the Real Madrid star winger will prove himself on Monday night. However, just as the Barcelona vs Real Madrid match is about to kick-off, Cristiano Ronaldo has come out to downplay the importance of scoring against the Blaugrana.

“I’m not obsessed with getting a goal against Barcelona. I don’t think that I’m under more pressure either,” Cristiano Ronaldo told reporters.
