Premier League giants Manchester United have held talks with representatives of former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho over a possible transfer to Old Trafford. The Red Devils have been linked with the Portuguese tactician countless times in the past, but the allegations have grown even stronger after his sacking by the Blues.
According to BBC Sport, the two parties have launched negotiations, but no deal has been struck just yet. The current Man United manager, Mr. Luis Van Gaal, is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, one year earlier than expected.

The latest news about the Man Utd and Mourinho talks does not come as a surprise for many fans of the English side, especially after their noisy neighbours Man City recently revealed that they had procured the services of outgoing Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, who had been initially linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The former FC Barcelona manager had been on Man United’s radar for quite a while, but The Citizens were luckier in his pursuit. In an attempt to prepare for what is expected to be one of the most exciting and competitive season in 2016/2017, the Red Devils’ hierarchy are now looking at the prospects of hiring Mourinho.
The former FC Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager was one of Pep Guardiola’s greatest rivals in La Liga between 2010 and 2013. By then, he was managing Real Madrid while his Spanish counterpart was in charge of their bitter rivals FC Barcelona. With the arrival of Pep Guardiola at Man City and Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, the rivalry between the two clubs is set be elevated to a greater level.
The Red Devils travel to the Stamford Bridge to face their bitter rivals Chelsea on Sunday for their Premier League fixture.
