Saturday was not a great day for Liverpool in the Premier League.
After securing brilliant back-to-back victories in the English top flight, overcoming reigning champions Manchester City 1-0 last weekend before beating West Ham 1-0 during the midweek, the Reds entered Matchweek 13 with tremendous confidence.
While a few players were ruled out in the build-up to this early kick-off against Nottingham Forest, namely Darwin Nunez and Thiago, there was a sense that Klopp's men had turned the corner after their horrible start to the season and were thus back to their best.
Unfortunately, this City Ground clash humbled the Merseyside giants once again. Despite fielding the likes of Alisson, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Salah, and Firmino, the English giants were frustrated by the newly-promoted side.
And when Taiwo Awoniyi scored in the 55th minute to give Steve Cooper's side a 1-0 lead, many Liverpool fans began fearing whether another disappointing away result was on its way. Sadly for the visitors, this turned out to be true, as Salah and Co. failed to equalize, squandering a number of decent opportunities en route to a shocking defeat.
This result leaves the Reds 11 points behind league leaders Arsenal despite playing a game extra, meaning the gap could increase to 14 should the Gunners beat Southampton on Sunday. Additionally, Liverpool's struggles away from home this season continue as the English giants are yet to win a game on the road, losing three and drawing two of their five away matches this campaign.
As a result, many flocked to Twitter to share their reaction to this game, and not all were disappointed to see Klopp's men stumble. In fact, a large crowd of social media users was keen on trolling Anfield's German manager after losing to Nottingham Forest, using his recent comments about Man City's financial prowess against him. Here are the best tweets.

There has been a staggering drop off in quality from Liverpool this season. If it was anyone but Klopp you'd be talking about the need for new management.

5 points off 2nd bottom Forest.
Tipping point loss for Klopp.
Very damaging.
To be fair to Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool were never going to be able to compete with a side that bought 22 players in the summer.

3 - Liverpool have lost three of their 11 Premier League games in 2022-23, one more than they'd lost in the whole of the 2021-22 campaign (2 of 38). Regression. pic.twitter.com/H8p5X2U7UR
