Barcelona midfield Arthur Melo finds himself in hot water once again due to his relationship with former Camp Nou superstar Neymar. The Blaugrana playmaker was pictured with the world’s most expensive player in a night out in the Catalonia capital but this did not sit well with the Liga champions.

The reason for this is their upcoming game on Saturday. Valverde’s men make the trip to Getafe in Matchday seven of the Spanish Primera Division needing a first away win of the season to climb out of seventh. Given that Barcelona will be without a few key players, the club need all their available players to be rested and fully fit.

However, given that Arthur went out with his countryman on Thursday, less than 48 hours before Saturday’s game, his employers were left unhappy. Valverde played this down but according to Marca, the Blaugrana were not pleased.

The former Gremio talent pulled off something similar last season, being the only Barcelona player to attend Neymar’s birthday party despite it being two days before the club were set to face Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey. Arthur ended up apologizing for that move.

Whether the Brazilian will be demoted to the bench as punishment remains unknown. Arthur played a key role in the 2-1 win over Villarreal, scoring in the 16th minute in what turned out to be the winning goal. Valverde will be without Alba, Messi, and Feti in their must-win trip to Getafe.
