Julen Lopetegui has been in charge of one of the worst starts in club history, but Los Blancos' president has already offered him a lifeline.

Real Madrid fans may not be happy after reading this article, especially those who wanted Florentino Pérez to give Julen Lopetegui the boot.

Los Blancos are currently experiencing one of the team's worst runs in history, but even if fans and experts believe it's time to make a change in the team's dugout, president Florentino Pérez will wait a few more weeks to reach that decision.

According to a report by Spanish newspaper As, Florentino Pérez met with Lopetegui prior to the game against Alavés, where he voiced his discomfort over the team's recent performances. Right after Saturday's loss, Sergio Ramos and Marco Asensio convinced their president not to fire Lopetegui, asking him for more time to turn things around.

Pleas from his footballers had their effect, and Pérez decided to send Lopetegui an ultimatum: he must beat Barcelona to keep his job. The president feels that winning that game will get the team back on track, and he is willing to risk waiting for the next International Break to part ways with Lopetegui if necessary.

With that in mind, the coach will be able to work peacefully during the international break. Nevertheless, any new mishaps from the team could see him out of a job, especially if his team can't beat Barcelona on October 28.
