The Russian side enters this game as a potential victim due to the massive amount of absences they will have for this clash.

Matchday 2 in the UEFA Champions League kicks off on Tuesday, and Real Madrid will try to honor all predictios that see them beating CSKA Moscow.

Los Blancos don't get to this game on a high, as they haven't won their two most recent games. Added to that, the team's woes in front of goal are a cause for concern among Real Madrid fans, mainly because they haven't scored in 180 minutes.

Coach Julen Lopetegui will have to chance his preferred lineup due to a couple of absences. Marcelo and Gareth Bale will not be available for this game due to muscular injuries. This will be the second game out for the Brazilian footballer, who was left out of the Madrid derby after picking up a thigh injury. Meanwhile, Gareth Bale's groin injury does not seem to be as serious as expected, which could allow him to be available for gthe team's next weekend's game.

Viktor Goncharenko's side will rely on its home-field advantage to try and shock Los Blancos. The Russian side won its two most recent competitive games, but their draw against Viktoria Plzen complicated their stay in the UCL.  If they want to keep their chances in this competition alive, CSKA will need to overcome the absences of up to seven players, all of them out due to injury. Striker Abel Hernández is one of those players that could be absent, but initial tests suggest that he could make it to the all-important clash against the Spanish giants.
