On Wednesday, Man United will lock horns with Sevilla in the first leg of their round of 16 clash in the UEFA Champions League. After winning their group, the Red Devils will be the away side this time around, taking to Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán for this tie.
This will be the first meeting between these two sides in a UEFA club competition. However, this does not mean the English giant has no clue how to overcome their Spanish opponent.
In Jose Mourinho, they have a manager who knows very well how to beat Los Hispalenses. Albeit his record against the home side dates seasons back, it is still a valuable run picked up from his Real Madrid days.
Between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho crossed paths with Sevilla eight times. During that period, his team suffered only one defeat, winning the other seven. Furthermore, his side conceded only six goals while scoring 23.
Of course, when you have the likes of Cristiano and Benzema at your exposal, goals are guaranteed. While Lukaku, Alexis, and Martial might not find the back of the net as often; Mourinho should know a thing or two on how to stop the Spanish Primera Division outfit.
