The 2016/2017 Bundesliga season resumed this past Friday. And LiveSoccerTV.com is on hand to cast an eye over all the happenings from the first round of 2017.

All the other leagues have resumed action, and finally, the Bundesliga got underway this past weekend. On Friday, Bayern Munich kicked off the 2016/2017 season with a clash against Freiburg, which interestingly enough, marked the fifth time since 2011 that they featured in the first game of the new year.

There were wins for the big sides, some personal records were set, and some interesting happenings, of course. Let's take a look at what happened on matchday 17.

When Lewandowski scores...Bayern win

No, really. Before Friday's game, he had scored in 38 games for die Roten, and they had won all of them. His brace against Freiburg made it 39 and in doing so, puts him second on the all-time foreign goalscorers' list for the Bundesliga.

So far, Lewy has 135 goals in German football's top flight. Only Claudio Pizarro, who has 190 goals, has scored more than the Polish international. Given that he recently signed a contract extension, one can bet that the ex-Dortmund man just may be able to match - and top - that record before hanging up his boots.

A rather dubious scoring record

Scoring goals is always a good thing. That is, provided it's not in your own net! Frankfurt, unfortunately, seem to have a problem with doing the latter, and matched a rather unfortunate record during their 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig on Saturday:

Dortmund's new signing making history...without even touching the ball

Nicknamed the "next Zlatan", Alexander Isak was reportedly on the radar of other clubs, like Real Madrid, but Dortmund snapped him up and managed to prise him away from the 11-time Champions League winners. And should Isak feature, he will make history in the process:
