Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one player who does not know how to mince his words and this time round, the message is clear for Man Utd's rivals. The outspoken forward has fired a warning shot at title contenders, particularly Chelsea, that the red devils are monitoring them closely and ready to dethrone them from the top if they slip.
Chelsea's winning run ended last weekend when they lost to Spurs, a result that gave the likes of Manchester United renewed but dim hopes of contending for the league title. Jose Mourinho's men are seperated from the top by 10 points and have been trying to catch up with the race but stil can't get off the sixth spot.
They host their bitter rivals Liverpool this Sunday in a match they must win in order to keep up with the title chase. But Zlatan believes that all is not lost for the red devils who have now won nine matches in a row ; their longest winning run since the 2009 season.
The Daily Star quotes the Swedish forward as saying;
"The last one and a half months have shown the right way, the gap [at the top] has been bigger but now it’s better.
"So we are closer to that now. We wait for the other teams to have their dips, to make their mistakes, and we will be there.
"We will give them hard work until then because I think the second half of the season is the decisive one and that will decide.
"Whatever you want, wherever you will come, let’s see what we want. I know what we want. We want to show it."
