Former Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry was on target thrice as Germany floored San Marino 8-0 in their World Cup qualifier on Friday. The 21-year-old, who now plays for German outfit Werder Bremen, was making his first senior debut for Die Mannschaft.
The rest of the goals were scored by Sami Khedira, Jonas Hector (brace) and Kevin Volland. The Germans are now top of group C with 14 points out of four matches played. Northern Ireland come second with seven points, while Azerbaijan are third with seven points too but an inferior goal difference. Speaking after the match, Gnabry was quoted by the BBC as saying:
"I did not count on scoring three goals on my debut. I am very happy. The last two years were difficult but now I am playing many games and am in scoring form. I hope it will continue."
Werder Bremen also congratulated the starlet on Twitter, and trolled Arsenal with this hilarious tweet:

Gnabry's positioning and shooting technique is pretty amazing for his age. How is Chamberlain ahead of him? Strange.
