The Argentinean striker could quit playing due to the enormous amount of pressure he's endured since he decided to join Boca Juniors last year.

Those who expected Carlos Tevez's return to European football may be left waiting, since the Argentinean striker is set to hang his boots next winter.

"El Apache" returned to Boca Juniors last season, leading Los Xeneizes to the title. Nevertheless, a number of injuries have made it difficult for him to shine this season, forcing him to consider an early retirement.

"I'm still thinking about it, but retirement by the end of the year is surely a possibility. I don't know how much football I have left in my tank. It's a personal decision, since its the day-by-day things that come with the sport that can get a bit tiresome," Tévez stated in an interview with El Clarín.

The Argentinean won three EPL titles, two Serie A trophies and one UEFA Champions League while in Europe.

Tévez has been subject to a great deal of pressure since he decided to join his childhood club. According to the striker, it's this sort of pressure that could force him to call it quits.

"In Italy, even if you lose a big game, you can go out there and carry on with your life. That's something you can't do in Argentina. It seems that football here is a matter of life and death. We need to learn how to relax and enjoy things," Tévez added.

Boca Juniors hasn't enjoyed the best start of the season, ranking eighth in the Argentinean Primera División after four games.
