The Vardy-to-Arsenal rumors are actually true, according to Olivier Giroud.

Barely 24-hours after it was reported that Claudio Ranieri had confirmed that the Vardy-to-Arsenal rumors were indeed true, another confirmation has arrived from an unlikely source. Arsenal and France star Olivier Giroud has confessed that the Leicester City hit man wants to leave the King Power Stadium for the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Reports suggest that the Foxes are asking for 20 million pounds as the release clause of the 29-year-old, an amount that would not be much of a problem for the Gunners. Vardy is part of the England contingent that will travel to France on Monday for the Euro 2016, and has already impressed both at the club and national level.

He was Leicester’s top goal scorer with 24 league goals in 36 appearances last season, and has also scored three goals for England in three appearances so far. He is widely seen as one of the top stars to watch in the European championship when it kicks off on June 10th.

In an interview with SkySports, Giroud revealed:

"I have been told that Jamie wants to join us and it's very good news for us. I think we can be complimentary and that's all I can say.

"He's a fantastic player, so it's good news for us."

When asked whether the arrival of Vardy to Arsenal would change Wenger’s formation, he added:

"Obviously, four-four-two.

"As I said in the past I am happy with competition. We have always had fantastic strikers at Arsenal and I want the best for this club. Hopefully he is going to help us win this title.

"The boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers, so I expected a top striker and I think it will benefit the club and hopefully he is going to score a lot of goals like he did at Leicester.''
