The 10-time Champions League winners have lost two stars ahead Sunday's important game, with no return date set.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid sealed their spot in the Champions League for a record 14th time in the competition’s history with a win over Man City; however, the midweek victory has come at a huge cost for the Spanish giants.

The 1-0 triumph at home to the Citizens for the 2nd leg semi-final tie saw Los Blancos lose both Gareth Bale and Keylor Navas to injuries, as the club confirmed that they suffered a joint strain (right knee) and tendinitis in the achilies tendon (left foot), respectively.

This will come as a huge blow to Zinedine Zidane’s boys, given that the two are sentenced to lengthy spells on the sidelines, as the Welshman and Costa Rican custodian have proven pivotal for the Madrid giants.

Bale, the world’s most expensive player, scored or aided the winning goal in Real Madrid’s last three games – against Rayo, Real Sociedad, and Man City – whilst Navas’ impressive season in between the sticks has helped the club, having kept 21 cleans sheets in 43 outings this campaign.

The 10-time Champions League winners may be made to sweat over their fitness, as no return date was set for the two, with the final showdown in Milan against neighbors Atletico due to be played in just over three weeks time.

Furthermore, their absence may jeopardize Cristiano and Co.’s chance of clinching the Liga BBVA title from under Barca’s nose, as they trail the reigning champions by a single point with only two games remaining, with Bale and Navas destined to miss Sunday’s tricky clash with Valencia.

However, it wasn’t all bad news for Les Merengues, as Zidane could be welcoming back countryman Karim Benzema to the squad, having completed a full training session on Friday.
