Leicester City is edging closer to becoming the new champions of the Premier League as they snatched one point from West Ham to further their lead in the title race

A dramatic full 90 minutes led to four brilliant goals, two consisting of penalties and a controversial red card for Leicester City’s ace, Jamie Vardy. The hosts welcomed West Ham United at King Power Stadium aiming to extend their points at the top of the table. Jamie Vardy who has been in an astonishing form scored his 22nd goal this season to give the lead to the home opponents. However, things took a turn when Vardy was sent off for a dive in the penalty box in the second half.

After a controversial dive into the box, the referee wasted no time and instantly sent off Leicester's goal scorer. The home side erupted in anger, having to compete with only 10 players for the remaining 2nd half of the match.

Jamie Vardy went from hero to zero as West Ham United managed to turn the game around scoring two goals in only two minutes to give them the lead.  In the 83rd, a penalty was awarded to the visitors as Andy Carroll capitalized his opportunity and minutes later, a stunning goal from Aaron Cresswell gave West Ham the upper hand in this dramatic match. Yet, it did not seem over for the "Foxes" as Leicester City were given a lifeline in injury time. Four minutes into stoppage time the hosts were given a penalty and Leonardo Ulloa fired it home to rescue the 2-2 draw for the Premier League leaders.

The last minute penalty was also full of controversy, as many believe there was no contact between Schlupp and Carroll inside the area. Regardless, the referee decided it was a foul as the game took a twist in the last seconds of the game by a penalty given to the home side.

In Europe’s top five leagues this season, Leicester City is the only team to have scored the most penalties (9). "The Foxes" have been awarded 11 penalties this season. Vardy has scored four out four, while Mahrez has marked four out of six, and Ulloa capitalizing his first and only penalty in today's match.
