Streamed live internationally on UEFA.com, the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals draw taking place in Nyon on Friday, March 18, will be an event of pure suspense.

Because it is an open draw, no club is seeded. This means that any fixture is possible, and teams from the same federation—Barcelona and Real Madrid, for instance—can be paired against each other.

Who are the qualified teams?

Among the eight winners from the Round of 16, which came to a close after this midweek’s round of Champions League matches, three teams are from Spain and two teams come from Germany. England, Portugal and France each have one representative left in the competition.

The qualified teams are Atlético Madrid, Bayern München, Barcelona, Benfica, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Wolfsburg.

When will the quarter-finals matches be played?

The home legs of the eventual 2015/16 Champions League quarter-finals matches this year are expected to be played on April 5 and 6. Return legs will be contested the following week on April 12 and 13.

Sides that are drawn first in Friday’s draw will play their first legs as hosts. The full list of fixtures will be available on our competition page.
