The boss also revealed the return date of Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's clash with Newcastle United on Saturday, French manager Arsene Wenger spoke highly of the club’s chances of winning their first English Premier League crown since 2004.

With Man United faltering under Louis Van Gaal this season, and Chelsea rotting in mid-table, the Gunners stand a grave chance of ending their 11-year wait, as they wave farewell to 2015 as league leaders.

Leicester are level on points though, and Man City trail by merely three, but with an in-form Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech in between the sticks, there is no denying the north London giants’ shot at the crown.

Le Prof, however, did bear a warning for the club’s supporters, saying:

"I'm confident [about our title chances]. There is still a long way to go, though. We're only half-way. Everyone wants to predict who can win it, but it's only half-way.

"We have to rise above that and show we can deal with all that [pressure].  But you cannot rule us out. We are first after 19 games. We are fighting hard to stay there. We have a chance and want to fight for it.

"We have matured and the most important thing is that we know we gave everything at the end of the season. If a team is better than us, fair enough. But we must give everything.

"We have to focus on ourselves rather than looking at who will be our biggest rivals in the title race."

A number of players have been out of the squad, sidelined with injuries, from the likes of Alexis Sanchez to Francis Coquelin.

However, the long-serving Frenchman revealed that their Chilean ace may return to the first-team soon, though their weekend clash with the Magpies may prove too soon.

"We might have Flamini back. Alexis will be too short for Newcastle. He [could] be back for Sunderland,” revealed the 66-year-old.
