El Clasico is finally upon us. Barcelona will roll into Santiago Bernabeu to lock horns with rivals Real Madrid in their highly-anticipated clash on Saturday.
The Blaugrana lead the Liga BBVA standings with 27 points, and are three ahead of Los Blancos, who sit in second with 24 points.
Les Merengues can leapfrog the Catalan giants should they beat Luis Enrique’s crew, given that Rafael Benitez’s side boast a better goal difference than the reigning Spanish Primera Division champions.
However, some stats seem to point in favor of a Blaugrana victory at the 10-time Champions League winners’ home ground.
Firstly, in their last 12 Santiago Bernabeu clashes with Barcelona in all competitions, Les Merengues have lost 6 times, only winning three, with 3 ending in draws.

Furthermore, an even more worrying stat is Rafael Benitez’s record against the Catalan giants. The Spanish manager, who will reportedly be sacked should Real Madrid lose to Barcelona, has faced the Blaugrana 12 times.
However, those 12 games have produced 7 defeats for the former Napoli boss, with only 4 wins and one draw.

One beacon of light for Real Madrid, though, is their 30-year-old goalscoring machine Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese ace, who has played in 23 Clasico ties, has scored 15 goals since arriving in Spain.
In addition, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner has netted in his last three Clasico fixtures.
