On Saturday, La Liga giants Barcelona beat fellow Spanish side Athletic Biblao to lift a record-breaking 27th Copa del Rey title.
The win came courtesy of goals from Argentine ace Lionel Messi and Brazilian superstar Neymar, as the Blaugrana sweeped aside their opponents 3-1 to win their second piece of silverware this season, with the players and manager eyeing the treble.

The game at Camp Nou, which saw La Pulga net a wonderful solo goal to break the deadlock, saw many records shattered and crazy stats achieved in the span of 90 minutes.
Messi himself, who netted a brace in the final, scored his 61st goal for both club and country this season, in 60 games. That amounts to just over a goal-per-game ration, whilst contributing to 90 goals in total, with 29 assists.

In 50 cup games, the 27-year-old contributed to 50 goals, scoring 34 and assisting 16, whilst winning his 30th game in 34 official games in this calendar year.
Scoring his 457th official career goal, Leo won his 23rd title with the Catalan giants, an impressive record given that during that span, rivals Real Madrid only won 10 titles.

Neymar ended the season as the competitions highest scorer, with seven goals to his name, tied with Iago Aspas, with seven strikes. Club legend Xavi, who will be departing Barcelona at the end of the season, became the player with most club trophies in Spanish football history.

Los Cules’ deadly attacking trio of MSN, comprising of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar, set a new record when the Selecao ace scored the second goal of the night, making them the trio with the most goals ever in a season in Spanish football with 119 strikes, surpassing Ronaldo, Benzema, and Higuain, whom previously held the record at 118.
